Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, said that Ethiopia is trying to exhaust the Egyptian and Sudanese negotiators with details, noting that Egypt, objectively, has many options that can be used in handling the Ethiopian Dam crisis. He also called for conducting a dialogue with the African countries endorsing Ethiopia.
Elfeki, in his TV interview on MBC Masr, considered the announcement of filling the Dam and officially retracting it later an attempt to look into the immediate responses to the incident, highlighting the fact that Ethiopia lost its sense of African unity, and is continuing its provocative measures towards Egypt.
Moreover, he maintained that Ethiopia is adopting a policy of deception in dealing with the sensitive matters of nations, which is an old Israeli theory that entails “changing the land’s features and then looking for the rights”. He said that, in spite of the media campaign against Egypt and the statements of Ethiopia, Egypt would eventually gain from the Dam case.
