Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, attended a celebration of the 68th National Day of Alexandria, which was held on Wednesday, 29 July 2020, at Alexandria Opera House (Sayed Darwish Theater). The BA Orchestra and Choir, affiliated to the BA Arts Center, took part in the event.
Among the attendees were Mr. Ahmed Gamal and Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Deputies of the Governor of Alexandria, General Abdel Fattah Tammam, Secretary General of Alexandria Governorate, Mr. Ahmed El-Wakil, Chairman of Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, together with a host of Arab and foreign consuls, members of the Parliament, and other executive, security, and religious leaders.
It is worth mentioning that Alexandria celebrates its National Day on 26 July every year, to mark the departure of King Farouk from Egypt on baord the royal yacht Mahroussa, heading to Italy, in the aftermath of the 23 July 1952 Revolution.
