Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, gave the opening speech of the conference, “Citizenship Fostering Diversity in the Arab Domain: The Problem and Solution”, which was organized by the Arab Thought Forum in Jordan. The conference was held via Zoom application, from 10 to 11 August 2020, at the invitation of HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal.
Dr. Elfeki’s speech touched upon new concepts, such as the fact that diversity is a gift, not a curse, and that it is an asset, not a problem. He also discussed the Arab state of affairs, and the effect of foreign intervention and internal disruption on the future of the region.
The conference ended after two days, and its successive sessions comprised several prominent intellectuals and specialists from many Arab countries.
