Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, took part in a ceremony organized by Charles University in Prague, to honor Archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, Former Minister of Antiquities. The celebration was held in the Egyptian Museum, and was attended by a host of intellectuals, politicians, archaeologists, and artists.
In his speech, Elfeki said “My friendship with Zahi Hawass spans 50 years. I have always wondered how he reached this position and I found out that it is his true dedication and hard work.”
He also added “Zahi is always amusing and cheerful, but he is a totally different person when he starts to work. He is a true Egyptian icon of whom we should all be proud. We understand his status and value at the archaeological, scientific, and political levels, and we strive to learn from him in every way.”
