In his latest interview with Sherif Amer on MBC Masr, Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, said that normally people follow their leaders if they believe a leader is working for their best interest, which is the case for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, stressing the fact that he is serving his country and does not have a personal agenda.
In addition, Elfeki commented on the war in Ethiopia, between the Tigray People's Liberation Front and Ethiopia’s central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, and how this war might affect the issue of the Renaissance Dam. He noted that this ongoing conflict would not deter Ethiopia from completing the construction of the Dam.
He also added that this civil war broke out as a result of some tribal divisions and power struggle, and not because of the Dam, highlighting the fact that the Ethiopian government may use this issue as a scarecrow to help terminate the internal conflicts.
