Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, said that the issue of the Renaissance Dam is of an African nature, and that Egypt had welcomed a solution to this crisis through the African Union, noting that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has been giving Africa great attention during his presidency.
He added, in his TV interview on MBC Masr, that President Sisi had utilized his presidency of the African Union for the benefit of Egypt and Africa, highlighting the fact that the reign of Hosny Mubarak witnessed a setback in the country’s relations with Africa, particularly after his assassination attempt in Addis Ababa.
Furthermore, he asserted that the diplomatic efforts exerted by Egypt had a positive impact on the issue of the Renaissance Dam, explaining that President Sisi’s visits to several African countries over the last few years served to resolve the stalemate in the Egyptian ties with Africa.
