Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, said that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to France aims to send important regional and international messages, especially concerning the Mediterranean countries and their relationship with Egypt, noting that this visit is the beginning of a “Franco-Egyptian spring.”
He added, in his interview with Sherif Amer on MBC Masr, that the relation between Egypt and France, which dates back to the reign of President Charles de Gaulle, is longstanding and has its own specificity.
Moreover, he maintained that this visit came at a critical time, namely during the US presidential elections between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. He also highlighted the fact that this visit sends a vital message to the new American president that he should realize the presence of allies to Egypt in Europe, on top of which is France.
