Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, said that Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit to Egypt bears clear indications of the developments happening on the global level, as well as those that have recently taken place regarding the new relations between the UAE and Israel.
He asserted, during his interview with Sherif Amer on MBC Masr, that the relations between Egypt and the UAE date back to the reign of Sheikh Zayed, noting that the UAE supported Egypt politically and economically in many situations, and that Sheikh Zayed had always been sympathetic to Egypt.
In addition, Elfeki referred to the current common issues between Egypt and the UAE, namely the assumption of office by US President Joe Biden, and the ensuing changes that might occur in the US policy towards the Arab region. He also touched upon the dangers surrounding the region, whether they be the Turkish presence in Libya or the role played by Iran in the region.
