Al Dar Al Masriya Al Lubnaniah recently published Dr. Moustafa Elfeki’s memoir The Story... A Journey of Time and Place. The book, which comes in twenty chapters, unveils a number of critical issues, to which Elfeki was a witness on one occasion, and a participant on many others.
In his memoir, Elfeki takes the reader on an exciting journey through his childhood and promising college years, followed by the most decisive moments of his life: his appointment as diplomat by a Presidential Decree, his work in the Presidential Palace, and the backstage events which culminated in his departure from the Palace, and which remained under wraps for many years. He also does not forget to mention his memories as Member of Parliament, the circumstances surrounding his candidacy for the Arab League, together with the plots implemented to bring him down, and ultimately his experience as Director of the Library of Alexandria.
In addition, he discusses several issues in the Egyptian political scene, and tackles the role of various Egyptian institutions and entities in exceptional political situations. He also gives a very serious account of the Egyptian international policy, and its role in maintaining the international status of Egypt.
Among the numerous episodes of the remarkable journey of his life, Elfeki dedicates large sections of his book to analyzing and reflecting on the events of the revolutions of 25 January 2011 and 30 June 2013 respectively.
