In his latest interview with Sherif Amer on MBC Masr, Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, said that Egypt did not allow any country to take advantage of the situation in Libya, including Turkey, noting that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi endorsed stability in Libya, and did not seek to pursue any particular interests. He maintained that Egypt did not interfere in the internal affairs of Libya, rather it facilitated conducting a real political dialogue within the nation.
Moreover, he asserted that ISIS members attempted to exploit the coronavirus crisis to re-construct their organization in Libya, and that Egypt prevented this endeavor by taking definitive measures on the ground, highlighting the fact that any attempt to destabilize the security of Libya would ultimately threaten the security of Egypt.
