In his latest interview with Sherif Amer on MBC Masr, Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, said that opposition is an integral part of any political system, and should be practiced in the Parliament, noting that President Sisi believes that real, constructive opposition based on common national ground is highly required.
Elfeki maintained that there is a clear shortage in the leadership of political parties, highlighting the fact that past oppositions relied mainly on individuals rather than parties. He also pointed out that the Wafd Party should have played a more significant role in the Egyptian political life, since it was established prior to the formation of the Muslim Brotherhood.
In addition, he praised the efforts exerted by the Egyptian state in training young people through the National Training Academy, which succeeded in producing deputy governors and ministers.
