The Bibliotheca Alexandria and the National Council for Women signed a protocol of cooperation on Tuesday, 16 March 2021.
Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, said that he is looking forward to strengthening the channels of cooperation with the National Council for Women, which plays significant roles in supporting women at all levels. He pointed out that this protocol is highly important as it coincides with the National Day of Egyptian Women.
Dr. Maya Morsy, President of the National Council for Women, expressed her delight at collaborating with the BA and exchanging experiences to support Egyptian women. She noted that signing this protocol on the National Day of Egyptian Women is a clear message of support from the BA to all Egyptian women, and an invitation for them to know more about this international beacon of science and knowledge.
The BA Women Studies and Social Transformation Program (WSST) will collaborate with the National Council for Women to organize activities and events that promote sustainable development for Egyptian women, in addition to several programs that raise social awareness about women’s issues and challenges. Other programs will focus on the rights and duties of working women to ensure their effective participation in the development of society. The protocol will also include the implementation of projects that focus on the role of disabled women, in order to guarantee better lives for everyone without marginalizing any segment of society.
