On Tuesday, 7 December 2021, Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Director of the National Assembly Library of Korea, signed a cooperation agreement in various cultural and scientific fields.
The agreement included an exchange of scientific books and references, and aimed at strengthening cooperation with regard to the digitization of documents and scholarly books, while benefitting from experts and specialists in the domains of common interest.
Elfeki said that the BA is keen on creating long-standing collaborations with scientific and cultural institutions around the world, shedding light on the initiatives the Library is interested to undertake in this respect.
Additionally, the Korean delegation toured the BA sections, libraries and museums, and was introduced to the Library’s vast collections of books in different fields.
At the end of the visit, the Director of the National Assembly Library of Korea donated a collection of books and literary works to the BA, as Elfeki presented him with a collection of BA publications, including The Photographic Memory of Alexandria.
