Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, was quoted as saying that teachers are the basis for the development of nations, and highlighted the importance of raising their competence and efficiency to cope with the advancement in educational methods. His address was part of “Teachers First” event organized by the BA, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. Participants included Dr. Mohammed Omar, Deputy Minister of Education for Teachers’ Affairs; Ms. Amal Abdel Zaher, Deputy Minister of Education in Alexandria; Colonel Hazem Badreldin, Representative of the Northern Military Region; General Ahmed Bassiouny, Representative of the Governor of Alexandria.

The BA participated in the Ministry of Education’s “Teachers First” Program through its own “Teachers 2030” Program, which aims to professionally train teachers and provide them with the newest techniques in the field of teaching. The event brought together 28 groups of teachers over the last 11 months, starting from February 2018, and offered them training lectures, with the aim of helping them access the latest information resources and research methods.
