Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, received a high-level delegation of religious leaders in Britain, and asserted that the Copts represent the largest Christian community in the Middle East, and that they interact with Muslims in all aspects of life. He also noted that President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is particularly concerned with promoting the principles of Citizenship and building churches. This was manifested in the construction of the Cathedral of the Nativity, the largest in the Middle East, next to Al-Fattah al-Alim Mosque as a symbol of modern Egypt that respects diversity and acceptance of people, regardless of their religious beliefs.
The British delegation was pleased to visit Egypt, and expressed its appreciation for the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and its local, regional and international role in disseminating knowledge and culture.
