Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Library of Alexandria (BA), is currently visiting London to discuss means of cooperation with a number of major cultural institutions including the Science Museum, where he witnessed the scientific activities held to mark 50 years since the landing of the spacecraft Apollo 11 on the moon, on 20 July 1969. Dr. Elfeki emphasized the role of the BA in disseminating the values of science through its collaboration with schools and other regional and international educational institutions. Dame Mary Archer, Chair of the Science Museum Group, welcomed Dr. Elfeki and hailed the significant achievements of the Library of Alexandria on the international level. She also asserted the importance of exploring means of cooperation between the two prestigious institutions.
In addition, Dr. Elfeki visited the British Library, and met with its Chief Executive, Mr. Roly Keating, who praised the achievements of the BA in the fields of digitization, heritage conservation and the establishment of Embassies of Knowledge in several Egyptian universities.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Elfeki presented some of the BA most remarkable publications as a gift to the British Library and the library of the Science Museum in London.
