Dr. Moustafa Elfeki took part in the inauguration of the 13th edition of the “People and the Banks” Conference, which was organized by the Arab Media Center on 5 and 6 November 2019, under the title “A Society less dependent on Cash”. The conference tackled the country’s transformation into a non-cash society and the importance of technological monetary and banking methods, an initiative adopted by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to support digital transformation and electronic payment.
Dr. Elfeki said that digitization is the language of the modern time and the first step towards fighting corruption and achieving financial inclusion. Moreover, he also noted that ailing economic conditions are the main reason behind the political turmoil in Lebanon, Iraq, and the entire Arab region. He also ascertained that the development of the Egyptian economy strengthens the country’s regional role.
