Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, welcomed Oscar-winning Director Francis Ford Coppola at the BA, as part of the latter’s recent visit to Egypt. Mr. Coppola said that he was pleased to visit the BA, as recommended by his friend, Oscar-winning Director Martin Scorsese, who paid a visit to the BA several years ago. Mr. Coppola visited the BA Main Library and museums, and was impressed by the "Memory of Modern Egypt" digitalization project, and asked about the information available on the Egyptian Writer Naguib Mahfouz, whose works he immensely admires.
Francis Ford Coppola is an American director, producer and screenwriter of Italian origin. Throughout his career, he received six Academy Awards, and several other prestigious accolades. His famous films include the Godfather trilogy, Apocalypse Now, among others.
