Dr. Mostafa el Feki, Director of the BA, convened with a number of Alexandrian writers, poets, literary figures, and intellectuals to discuss the challenges facing the cultural scene in Alexandria and to listen to their opinions and suggestions concerning the future of the BA.

Dr. Mostafa el Feki, Director of the BA, will convene with youth from Egypt and a number of Arab and African countries on Tuesday, 18 July 2017 in order to listen to their opinions on the activities held by the BA and suggestions on how to further activate the role of the youth. This meeting will be held as a quick response to the suggestions raised during last weeks’ “Intellectual Dialogue”, which included lucrative interaction with youth and an openness to the Arb world and Africa.

Dr. Mostafa el Feki, Director of the BA, and Dr. Khaled el-Anany, Minister of Antiquities, inaugurated the “Thirty Years of Excavation at the Eastern Gateway of Egypt (1987–2017)” Exhibition on 13 July 2017. The exhibition is organized by the BA Antiquities Museum, in collaboration with the Ministry of Antiquities, and is going to be held from 13 to 30 July 2017 at the West Exhibition Hall, BA Conference Center (BACC).

Dr. Mostafa el Feki, BA Director, toured the Sharjah World Book Fair pavilions, praising the organization and its international partnerships of the event. He met several Arab intellectuals and writers at the BA pavilion, and confirmed the BA’s upcoming plans to document the history of the Arab Region online. Dr. el Feki furthermore stressed the importance of promoting cultural movements in the Arab Region to its public, describing it as the greatest means of countering extremist thought.

The first session of the BA Board of Trustees (BoT) annual meeting was held this morning, where Dr. Mostafa el Feki was welcomed as the newly appointed BA Director and successor of Dr. Ismail Serageldin—who had held said post since the inauguration of the BA in 2002.

On the occasion of the transfer of its administrative power, the BA held a press conference on Sunday, 28 May 2017 with the participation of Dr. Adel El-Beltagy, Chair of the BA BoT Executive Committee; Dr. Ismail Serageldin, BA Founding Director; and Dr. Mostafa el Feki, the newly appointed BA Director.
