Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, took part in the inauguration of Alexandria’s Synagogue, stating that he is very proud to witness this event that signifies the Egyptian unity between all societal sects regardless of their religions or beliefs.
He noted that the inauguration of Alexandria’s Synagogue, which was restored by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, is a testament that Egypt is and will always be the country of civilization, culture, and religion. He also emphasized that Egypt, throughout its long history, had never been a place for fanaticism or extremism, but it has always nourished national unity and harmony among its people.
He commented on the inauguration saying: “Today, Egypt sends a message to the whole world that it is the birthplace of civilization, tolerance, and acceptance of the other.”
